New Orleans Among Top 50 Most Populous Cities in U.S., According to Census Numbers

New Orleans is back among the top 50 most populous cities in the U.S. for the first time since Hurricane Katrina, according to U.S. Census Bureau reports released today. NOLA.com reported the 2014 numbers, which estimates New Orleans' population at 384,320, barely edging out Arlington, Texas (383,204) for the No. 50 spot on the list.

New Orleans' population is up from 379,006 in 2013 and 343,829 in 2010, bolstering evidence for the city's recovery as the 10 year-anniversary of Katrina approaches.
