What $900/Month Rents You in New Orleans

New, 1 comment

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New Orleans neighborhoods. Is one person's studio another person's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $900

↑ Whether you call it St. Roch or by its trendy real estate moniker, New Marigny, 2107 Arts St. is a good deal in the neighborhood that's on everyone's lips. For $900 you get a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom house totaling at 750 square feet. The space is a bit narrow, but would be good for a young couple or cozy roommates. You can go hang out on the front porch when you get sick of each other.

↑ This studio at the condo complex at 1205 St. Charles Ave. is pretty small (400 square feet), but you do get access to a pretty pool, a gym and a great neighborhood. You're close enough to the CBD without paying the steeper rents at the studios in that neighborhood.

↑ Can't decide if the mustard-yellow everything in this apartment is charming or nauseating, but over at 1315 Pauline St. you get a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, 900 square-feet half of a double shotgun in the hip, hip Bywater for $900.

↑ Units are available in the compound of colorful homes that kind of looks like the Barracks on "Lost", including a one-bedroom for $900. By joining this little cottage island in Carrollton, you get access to parking and a pool.

↑ Over in Mid-City, this 850-square-feet upper half of a double has hardwood floors, exposed bricks and fireplace mantles. Just "NO PETS. NO PETS PLEASE." They're begging you. · 2107 Arts St. []
