A mural given the ever-important Instagram endorsement by national fixation Taylor Swift is coming to New Orleans to be the background for your own public art selfie. Artist Kelsey Montague will unveil "What Lifts You" this Saturday for this year's White Linen Night.
The Downtown Development District and Pelican Bomb are presenting the mural, which you can find at 750 Carondelet St. until the end of October. They'll unveil the installation at 6 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 2.
The artist has brought "What Lifts You" to walls all over the world, from Las Vegas to New Zealand, and she encourages people to take their Swift-style shots in front of the wings and share the photos, along with what inspires them, on social media. I have a feeling this interactive piece will fill the hole left by absence of the "Before I Die" mural.
