City Council Approves Construction on Virgin Hotel

The City Planning Commission wasn't a fan of the proposed 14-story Virgin Hotel back in July, but reports that the City Council has approved the project anyway.

Why approve the project when, at 148-feet tall, it surpasses the zoned height limit of 125 feet and 10 stories? The council's hoping we get an airline out of it. From

"I'm hoping that discussions about bringing Virgin airlines to our city is something that will continue to move forward," [Councilwoman Latoya] Cantrell added. "It seems very promising."
