It's Going Down Tonight at the Short-Term Rental Hearing

The debate on short-term rentals in New Orleans has been contentious, to say the least, which is why this evening should be interesting: at 5 p.m. the City Planning Commission is holding a public hearing on short-term rentals at City Council Chambers. If you can't make it, you can stream the meeting here.

The CPC recently commissioned a study on short-term rentals in New Orleans, and at this evening's meeting the group will hear the public's comments on how the city should handle services facilitating these rentals. The authors of the NOLA Rental Report, a damning data analysis of the effect services like Airbnb have had on the New Orleans housing market, have submitted comment to the CPC ahead of the meeting.
