Brandan Odums Unveils Cinema-Centric Mural for the New Orleans Film Festival

Brandan Odums is a busy guy. On the heels of his "The Peace Wall" mural in New Orleans East, the artist completed a cinema-themed mural for the upcoming New Orleans Film Festival (Oct. 14-22).

The mural, painted on a temporary wall alongside the building at 840 St. Charles Ave. that will soon be the home of The Advocate, features wheat pasted images of four movie posters from films shot in Louisiana. The posters are from Easy Rider, Satchmo the Great, Louisiana Story and Panic in the Streets, with paintings of audience reactions to the films in the foreground. The mural is inspired by the wheat pasted movie posters seen on New York and L.A. streets.
