People Are Mad About This Proposed Mid-City Drive-Through Taco Bell

Mid-City has another drive-through controversy, this time with a well-known national chain. Millennial stoners might have been happy to see that a drive-through Taco Bell might move into a vacant lot at 217 N. Broad St., but neighborhood groups are not having it.

The Taco Bell has caused mas debate at Mid-City area neighborhood meetings. Officially against the project? The Mid-City Neighborhood Organization and Broad Community Connections. For the project? A lot of my friends on Facebook.

The Taco Bell goes before the City Planning Commission this afternoon. The City Planning staff has recommended denial of the project, citing the city's Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and design standards of the Enhancement Corridor Design Overlay District.
