Say Goodbye to Musee Conti Wax Museum, Say Hello to Condos

The delightfully odd Musee Conti Wax Museum in the French Quarter officially closes this Sunday, January 31, and 16 luxury condos will rise in its place.

It's still not sure what will become of the museum's collection of wax figures, but Jonathan Weber of Harry Baker Smith Architects, the developer of the condos at the site, has expressed interest in "maintaining some nod to the building's history."

We're interested to see what that looks like, but until then we'll wax nostalgic over this beloved New Orleans oddity.
