Ace Hotel New Orleans Opens in the CBD March 14

New, 2 comments

One Portland's favorite exports—besides Elliot Smith, "Portlandia" and ridiculous donuts—the Ace Hotel will be opening its New Orleans location in the CBD March 14. They're accepting reservations now if you wanna get in on that.

The 234-room hotel took over an old art deco furniture store in the CBD. New York firm Roman and Williams designed the hotel, which features design elements inspired by "Dadaists and Art Deco, as well as domestic modernism and The Bloomsbury Artists — Picasso, Braque and the Cubists." Architects Eskew+Dumez+Ripple oversaw the project.

Also, every room includes a full-sized SMEG refrigerator "overbrimming with the fresh ingredients necessary for mixing cocktails in your own room." And of course, Stumptown Coffee Roasters will post up at the New Orleans hotel.

Room rates begin at $189/night weekdays, $269/night weekends.
