Here Are New Orleans' New Street Parking Rates, Hours

New, 3 comments

Despite public outcry, the city has followed through with its plan to double rates for street parking and increase parking enforcement hours downtown. The new rules go into effect this Monday, Jan. 11. Here's the new rates for Central Business and Warehouse districts, French Quarter and Marigny:
Metered parking in those neighborhoods will run $3 an hour. Metered parking elsewhere will run $2 an hour, 50 cents more than the previous rate. Parking enforcement will also run until 7 p.m. instead of 6 p.m.—which is better than 10 p.m., which was originally proposed.
