A Cozy Shotgun, Irish Channel Cottage, Park-Side Estate, or Renovated Corner Store: Pick the House of the Week

New, 3 comments

The homes we featured in On the Market this week were all pretty different from each other: we showcased everything from a modest shotgun to a mega renovation on the Irish Channel border. Which home was your favorite?

↑ This former dress shop in Milan is enjoying a second life as a classy party pad: it features a projector screen mount viewable from the first or second floors, a custom bar on the upstairs landing, and topping it off is a partially covered roof deck. Asking price: $415,000.

↑ Cathedral ceilings, bamboo floors and lots of windows give this 5,640 square-foot Audubon Park-side estate a light, contemporary feel. Off the kitchen is a deck, and there's also a covered outdoor area on the basement level. Asking price: $2,100,000.

↑ At 1,017 square feet this one bedroom in Uptownis fairly small, but compensates with high ceilings and a small backyard respite. Pretty wood floors, exposed beams and gas fireplaces add both literal and metaphorical warmth. Asking price: $329,000.

↑ Right on the border of East Riverside and Irish Channel, this corner-lot cottage has a contemporary barn feel, with super-shiny hardwood floors throughout the 2,742 square-foot house, sliding barn doors upstairs, and that ubiquitous reclaimed wood accent wall against a minimal staircase. Asking price: $739,000.
