It’s filled with gorgeous, Howard-esque details

Prolific Louisiana architect Henry Howard left his mark all over New Orleans. Howard’s last known commission, the Auguste Tete house at 1914 Esplanade Ave., recently hit the market.

Designed nearly 135 years ago and lovingly preserved, a grand doorway is the entrance into the 6,400 square-foot home, filled with gorgeous details including stained glass, a sweeping staircase, Carrera marble and wood carved mantels, ornate archways and medallions, plus more. The kitchen has the home’s original hand-milled brick cook’s fireplace.

The asking price for this jewel? $1,695,000.
