As the New Orleans holiday season gets into gear, City Park is putting on its 30th annual Celebration in the Oaks. The celebration starts November 25, to January 1, 2017.
During Celebration in the Oaks, 25 acres of the park is decorated with lights, including the Botanical Gardens, Storyland and the Carousel Gardens. There will be several light exhibits, including the Cajun night before Christmas display and The Dripping Snow Tree.
The festival will feature several light display, Christmas trees decorated by several local groups and the iconic Celebration in the Oaks snowman, Mr. Bingle. Additionally, there will be several amusement park rides and a train celebratory train ride.
City Park expects over 165,000 visitors to attend the celebrations between November 25 and January 1.
This years festival will be open Sunday to Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Celebration in the Oaks starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m.
Admission tickets are $9 per person, and children under three are free. Tickets for admission, the train and amusement park rides can be bought on site, or on the official City Park website. Friends of City Park members receive free admission to Celebration in the oaks.
Celebration in the Oaks will be closed between d November 28- December 1, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
