Parkway Bakery & Tavern expansion approved by City Council

Say hello to more breathing room and restrooms.

Yesterday, New Orleans City Council passed Parkway Bakery & Tavern’s proposal to expand its property area, Mid-City Messenger reported.

Parkway asked to expand it’s 538 Hagan ave. property by 2000 square feet. The Parkway’s proposal passed through City Planning Commission and City Council unanimously.

The expansion will include more restroom space and a larger dining area.

Both City Council and the City planning Commission raved about the positive impact Parkway Bakery has in the Mid-City community.

Properties over 5000 square feet need to obtain a conditional use permit to expand.

According to the architect behind the expansion, the design of the property expansion will look similar to the building’s current makeup.
