The Beacon at South Market District is Now Pre-Leasing

The building will include a yoga and cycling studio and a hair salon

The Beacon, the newest residential building of the CBD's South Market District, is almost complete and is now pre-leasing, according to a press release.

Designed by local firm Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, the building will include 124 apartments and 20,000 square feet of retail space. Retail tenants include cycling and yoga studio Higher Power and the salon Hair Loft Studio, with more on the way.

EDR designed a colorful staircase on the building along Girod Street that is meant to double as a public gathering space.

So, how much is rent going to cost you at this building in New Orleans' second most expensive neighborhood? Rents at The Beacon start at $1,700 for a one-bedroom, $2,300 for a two-bedroom, and $6,500 for a penthouse. The building will be ready for occupants in March.

The South Market District's residential complex is not complete, though! The Morris Adjmi-designed The Standard is still to come.
