Developers Plan to Convert Historic Mid-City Church Into Residences

The New Orleans Redevelopment Fund is hoping to convert a historic church in Mid-City into 20 residential units, with the possibility to add four additional units later.

NORF has applied for a conditional use permit to redevelop the historic church, First United Baptist Church at 131 S. Jefferson Davis Parkway, and it also hopes to demolish an accessory building on the site to make way for parking spaces.

The same group is the one behind a condo project on nearby Banks Street.
