RTA Approves Express Route to the Airport, Plus 24-Hour Service on Nine Routes

New, 1 comment

Will you take the airport express?

No more bugging your friends for rides to the airport: The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority just approved a big expansion to its services, including an express shuttle to the Louis Armstrong airport.

Initially aimed at serving workers involved in the construction of the new airport terminal, there will be a route that connects downtown to the airport.

The RTA also approved 24-hour service on nine routes: No. 39 Tulane, No. 47 Canal-Cemeteries Streetcar, No. 52 St. Bernard-Paris Avenue, No. 55 Elysian Fields, No. 63 New Orleans East Owl, No. 84 Galvez, No. 88 St. Claude, No. 94 Broad, and No. 114 Gen. de Gaulle-Sullen.

With these expanded options, it seems like the RTA is trying to serve New Orleans locals—not just tourists.
