Asian-Inspired Lake Terrace Midcentury Modern Gets a $30K Price Cut

It's definitely quirky

When this delightfully wacky midcentury modern in Lake Terrace hit the market, the $625,000 price tag seemed kind of low for what you're getting (although some post-1950s updates are definitely needed, which would hike up the cost). Now, the asking price has been knocked down to $595,000.

Although a reader wrote to us saying the house looked like "a cheap motel that the Brady Bunch moves to after they hit the skids," we sort of like the Asian kitsch-meets-David Lynch look of this house, which Dutch architect H. Van Rappard designed. The home's quirkier features include a large solarium with a round bed right in the middle and a stocked bar surrounded by scarlet curtains. There's also a pool.

We're interested to see what the next owner does with this place.
