A Compromise Proposal for the Sports Complex at the Fly Moves a Field Farther from the Riverfront

Some want no sports complex at all

The controversial proposed sports complex at the Fly has been tabled until both sides can discuss the project further, and so far one potential compromise plan has emerged. One proposal has the artificial-turf field at the heart of the complex moved farther away from the riverfront area popular for gatherings.

Members on both sides are theoretically OK with the altered plan, but other stakeholders involved and the donors footing the bill for this still need to be consulted.

But, judging from posts on the Save the FLY NOLA Facebook page regarding the compromise, some opponents of the project (the group, which does not have a formal structure, is not expressing a unified opinion on the latest proposal) think the best solution is not have the complex at all.
