Tipitina's South Shore Harbor Marina Venue to Include Open-Air Market, Amphitheater, Recording Studio, and Restaurant

Eskew+Dumez+Ripple is on the project

Tiptina's owner Roland von Kurnatowski's plan to redevelop the former site of the Bally's riverboat casino landing into a music-centered hub is taking shape. The developer and architect on the project have filed plans with the City Planning Commission.

The first phase of the development includes an open-air market, a second-floor restaurant "with panoramic views of the lake and downtown New Orleans," a fuel dock and marina store, an amphitheater, and a "promenade" with restaurants and shops.

The second phase includes a recording studio that would be in partnership with Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Kurnatowski is also discussing with the National World War II Museum plans to bring the operational PT boat to the harbor for guests to ride.

Kurnatowski and project architect Eskew+Dumez+Ripple are asking for a conditional use permit "to allow for an outdoor music venue, a bar and retail alcohol sales."
