Four of the Uptown Drainage Projects Will End Soon, Some As Early As This Month

Sweet relief is near

The Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project has torn up Uptown for four-and-a-half years now, reaching peak hellscape status last summer. But thankfully, relief is imminent: four of these projects will end soon, with one ceasing as early as this month.

The project on Jefferson Avenue, between Dryades Street and Constance Street, will end this month. Napoleon Avenue, between Claiborne Avenue and Carondelet Street, will end in April, and S. Claiborne Avenue, between Monticello Avenue and Leonidas Street, will end in May.

Later this summer, Louisiana Avenue, between South Claiborne Avenue and Constance Street, will end.

Sweet, sweet relief is near.
