Developer Thomas Winingder bought a pair of Warehouse District buildings, including the former home of New Orleans Auction Galleries, in a deal last month.
The sales price of the two buildings, 801 Magazine St. and 516 Julia St., was undisclosed. However, Orleans Parish Assessors Records value 801 Magazine at $1.5 million and 516 Julia at just under $200,000.
Plans for the properties are in their early stages, but will likely involve "some commercial use on the ground level with residential units on the upper floors."
Winingder was also involved in the redevelopment of St. Anna's Asylum into high-end apartments, and is currently working on a mixed-use development on Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District.
