City Council OKs Demo at Busy Mid-City Intersection to Make Way for Ochsner ER

New, 1 comment

The project still needs to go to the City Planning Commission and Council

In other Ochsner news this week, the ever-expanding medical system is one step closer to building a free-standing emergency room at the corner of Canal and S. Carrollton: City Council OK'd the demolition of a furniture store at the proposed site of the ER.

The store Sofas and Chairs at 4116 Canal St. will come down.

The Ochsner project will still need approval from the City Planning Commission and City Council, however.

Will an ER at a busy corner in Mid-City—and not too far away from the University Medical Center—cause too much of a traffic crunch in the area?
