Among the many new hotel brands aimed at the millennial traveler (read: young people who are likely to use Airbnb) coming to town, an outpost of Marriott's Moxy brand opened on O'Keefe Avenue in the CBD on Friday.
The brand boasts many tech-forward amenities, including mobile check-in and out, free WiFi, "abundant" outlets in rooms, and even "photo booth elevators." Seemingly taking cues from the poshtel trend, the rooms here are hip, but simple, in favor of lively, well-outfitted common areas designed for hanging out.
Also pleasing to young travelers are the relatively affordable rates. Nightly rates range from $99-189 during high season, $69-129 in low season, and with special event rates up to $339.
Another Moxy location is in the works—also in the CBD, but managed by a different group—after much controversy.
