Our Lady of Lourdes church Uptown, which had been on the market since last spring, sold at the end of April to 616 Girod LLC for $1,300,000.
616 Girod St. is the address of the CBD building that houses the New Orleans Opera Association. The owners bought that building in 2015 for $1,675,000.
The Napoleon Avenue church flooded after Hurricane Katrina and was never returned to use. The Archdiocese of New Orleans issued a request for proposals in April 2015 to purchase and redevelop the property.
In other recent real estate transfer news, you may recall a Marigny camelback that hit the market last summer with a lackluster renovation that was boldly asking $1.1 million. Almost a year, and a few price chops, later the home has sold for $875,000 to an entity called 2532 N. Rampart Street LLC.
