New Orleans Rent: What $1,100 Gets You in Treme, Touro, Gentilly Terrace, Bywater, and Uptown

Comparing rentals in five neighborhoods

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New Orleans neighborhoods. Is one person's studio another person's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,100.

↑ The 1,000 square-foot Treme two-bedroom, one bathroom includes a washer/dryer, a dishwasher, off-street parking and a fenced-in backyard. Pets are considered on a case-by-case basis.

↑ Over in Touro, the 875 square-foot one-bedroom is freshly renovated. Features include hardwood floors; high ceilings; a furnished kitchen with a dishwasher, gas stove, and a refrigerator; and off-street parking. No word on the pets policy.

↑ The 750 square-foot one-bedroom carriage house in Gentilly Terrace boasts lots of natural light and a shared courtyard. Pets are allowed.

↑ The half of a shotgun double in Bywater has two bedrooms, one bathroom, plus a double parlor in the front. The apartment features 12-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, fireplace mantels, two closets and an additional linen closet, and a shed with a washer/dryer. Friendly pets are considered.

↑ The 800 square-foot one-bedroom shotgun is close to Whole Foods in Uptown. The upper unit includes wood floors throughout, high ceilings, and a washer/dryer. Cats are allowed, dogs are not.
