Drainage projects in the works all over the city
In concert with the city’s "living with water" efforts, City Council yesterday voted to move forward on drainage projects in Bayou St. John, Central City, and Gentilly. The projects will pull from a $141 million federal grant for green infrastructure.

Bioswale Planned for Coliseum Square Park
Sewerage and Water Board presented its plan to install a 600-foot-long bioswale in Coliseum Square Park at a neighborhood meeting this week. Early this year the S&WB pledged to spend $500,000 a year for five years on "green infrastructure."

City Park Lagoons to Help Mitigate Flooding
The Bayou District Foundation, funded by a $1 million donation from the Zurich Insurance Group, is working on a project that would allow turn the lagoons at City Park into massive rainwater retention ponds.
