Bike-Friendly Beer and Wine Garden Planned For Lafitte Greenway

It'll be pet-friendly, too

A bicycle-friendly beer and wine garden, hoping to target people using the nearby Lafitte Greenway, is planned for Toulouse Street in Mid-City.

Businessmen Bill Good and Herb Dyer—who co-own Camp Bow Wow, which just opened on Conti Street nearby—are planning a space with a "pet-friendly outdoor patio, small outside bar, room for three food trucks, a small indoor space and plenty of bicycle parking" for the land next to Bayou Bicycles and behind Canal Furniture Liquidators on Toulouse Street. (Dyer also owns the bar The Bulldog and the restaurant Velvet Cactus in Lakeview.)

The group presented the plan to the Mid-City Neighborhood Organization this week, and next will host a neighborhood participation plan meeting before filing the plans with the City Planning Commission.
