South Claiborne Avenue Might Get a Chick-fil-A

A Chick-fil-A spokewoman doesn't know that yet, though

All kinds of interesting tidbits are coming out in Mayor Landrieu’s budget meetings, and this item is particularly juicy: At a meeting in District B this week, Landrieu passed the mic to Councilwoman LaToya Cantrell to discuss improvements to the South Claiborne corridor.

After talking about businesses that have already opened in the area, she moved on to future developments:

"Other additions, such as Chick-Fil-A, are coming to Claiborne," Cantrell said. "We have other improvements along Claiborne and Washington Avenue."

However, Cantrell couldn’t elaborate on that information, and a spokewoman from Chick-Fil-A said that she does not "see a South Claiborne location listed on any real-estate reports." Perhaps they are being coy?

While that may be disappointing to New Orleans drive-through chicken tender fans (there are no Chick-Fil-A’s in New Orleans city limits, aside from a location at UNO), there’s already a Raising Cane’s on Claiborne, as well as many, many other fast-food restaurants.
