Tulane Avenue Pepsi-Cola warehouse won’t be demolished after all

The Neighborhood Conservation District Advisory Committee says the building should be preserved

After encountering resistance from a neighborhood group, Mid-City Messenger reports the owners of the old Pepsi-Cola warehouse on Tulane Avenue have withdrawn their request to demolish the building.

The Feil Organization, who also recently purchased the old Dixie Brewing warehouse at the same address, wanted to tear down the warehouse at 2537 Tulane Ave. But the Neighborhood Conservation District Advisory Committee argued that the "nice brick building that has some history to it" should be saved and become "an anchor for a good development."

The Feil Organization still has not said what it plans to do with the space.
