Entergy’s New Orleans East solar power plant, which got up and running recently, officially opened this week.
NOLA.com has a first look at the plant, which they describe as "small as far as utility-scale solar goes" but nonetheless impressive.
Consisting of 4,200 panels, the plant can produce up to one megawatt of electricity or enough to power roughly 160 homes. The plant also is among a few in the nation that has a battery storage facility on site to study how it can store power to use on cloudy days.
Meanwhile, WWL-TV reports Louisiana residents are suing the state for recently imposing a cap on tax credits for solar panels.
