Eskew+Dumez+Ripple-designed Tulane riverfront campus opens

The institute will study Louisiana's waterways and coast and work to combat land loss and rising sea levels

Tulane University just unveiled the sleek, 5,800-square-foot ByWater Institute this week, designed by the New Orleans architecture firm Eskew+Dumez+Ripple.

The facility, located between the Port of New Orleans headquarters and Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World, will study Louisiana's waterways and coast and work to combat land loss and rising sea levels.

The Advocate has photos of the facility, which also includes space in the Mardi Gras World warehouse used to vehicles, vessels and field research equipment.

Eskew+Dumez+Ripple was also behind Crescent Park further down the river.
