Uptown JCC expansion: Construction starts this month

The expansion will include a lot more pool options

The New Orleans Jewish Community Center’s plans to expand got the City Planning Commission’s OK back in July, and NOLA.com reports that construction will start at the Uptown facility this month.

The expansion, with architects Mathes Brierre on the job, will include a new pool with a "splash pad" and slide, a new heated outdoor lap pool, a toddler pool, and an indoor teaching/therapy pool. There will also be a new 2,500 square-foot "cardio workout space and an enlarged personal training school," and a new third floor that will house new rooms for group exercise classes.
