Hotel news: Rault Center hotel will be the Troubadour; Baronne Street hotel rebranding

The Troubadour opens this fall; the rebranded Baronne Street Inn and Suites does not have an opening date

Today there’s some news on the many hotels in the works in New Orleans, particularly in the downtown area.

NOLA.com reported today about chef Phillip Lopez’s latest restaurant ventures; he’s opening three eateries as the soon-to-open Troubadour hotel. What’s the Troubadour, you ask? Why, it’s the previously not named Joie de Vivre-branded hotel opening at the Rault Center in the CBD. Opening in early November, the hotel will have a ground-floor restaurant, a second-floor cocktail lounge, and rooftop bar.

In other hotel news, CityBusiness reports the Baronne Inn and Suites will reopen as a Fairfield Inn and Suites after a big renovation. The original press release about the rebranding did not specify a reopening date.
