Algiers Point luxury apartments hit the market

One-bedrooms at the renovated Masonic lodge are renting for $1,300

There is no lack of "luxury apartments" in New Orleans’ downtown neighborhoods, especially in the CBD and Warehouse District. But one development is trying to lure renters who might want a CBD studio across the river.

At the end of August, high-end units at a renovated Masonic lodge at 620 Opelousas St. in Algiers Point began popping up on the market. Renting for $1,300, the loft-style one-bedrooms have concrete flooring, lots of windows, sleek kitchens with stainless steel appliances, and access to a roof deck with views of the river.

At the end, the ad proposes: "Why live in the CBD, when you can live just minutes away in the tranquil historic neighborhood of Algiers Point for near half the price!"
