City Council short-term rental vote: Date set for Oct. 6

This will likely be a long meeting

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: City Council will finally vote on the new regulations regarding short-term rentals in New Orleans. Get ready for what will likely be a marathon meeting Oct. 6.

To recap, in early August the City Planning Commission recommended City Council vote to ban whole-home short term rentals rented out more than 30 days of the year outside of commercial zones, and to legalize owner-occupied STRs. At the October meeting, which is sure to be as contentious as the CPC meeting, City Council has the final say on the matter.
