Pelli Clarke Pelli-designed Tulane business school expansion begins

The project is expected to be complete by early 2018

NOLA.com reports Tulane University today broke ground on the modern-minded expansion of its A.B. Freeman School of Business.

International architecture firm Pelli Clarke Pelli, which designed the award-winning St. Katharine Drexel Chapel at Xavier University in New Orleans and is working on the new terminal at MSY, is behind the expansion.

The expansion calls for a 45,000 square-foot, four-story addition that will unify the business school's current two-building footprint into one structure called the Goldring/Woldenberg Business Complex. Aiming to achieve LEED Gold certification, the building will include a "sweeping three-story atrium" and additional space for faculty and the school's growing student body.

The project is expected to be complete by early 2018.
