While there are several spooky events happening in New Orleans during Halloween, there is no better “Thriller” than a Halloween-centered flashmob in front of City Hall.
Today, the New Orleans Recreation Department and FITNOLA held their 6th Annual Flashmob at City Hall, led by FITNOLA instructor Kenneth Kynt Bryan. With over one-hundred participants in part of its show, FITNOLA and NORDC recruited many of its student dancers from an array of local schools.
According to Flashmob New Orleans, the choreographed performances all started as tributes to Michael Jackson’s 1983 “Thriller” music video.
At the event, dancers performed to hit songs by Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot, and Taylor Swift. Practice for the student-based “Thriller” choreography started in the middle of this past October.
This Flashmob in particular held a tribute to Fats Domino, featuring an appearance by and sing along with New Orleans jazz singer John Boutté
