See what $1,300/month rents in neighborhoods such as Mid-City, Holy Cross, and more

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a semi-regular column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New Orleans neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today, we're looking at apartments renting around $1,300.

↑ For $1,300/month, you can rent this roomy shotgun that sits two blocks from Canal Street in Mid-City. Measuring at 1,100 square feet, this home has three bedrooms and one bathroom. While large, it doesn’t have many luxury finishes. Highlights include its tall ceilings, and kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. While there is not much green space at its rear, it does have a covered wooden deck. No pets are allowed under the rental agreement.

↑ For $100 more, this larger apartment in Holy Cross rents for $1,400/month. At first glance, this seemingly new construction has a large front yard and double gallery. Measuring at 1,400 square feet, it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a roomy dining space, eat-in kitchen, and two rooms with balcony access. The owner allows pets under this home’s rental agreement. There’s no off-street parking at this residence.

This Tudor-style apartment on Esplanade Avenue rents for $1,300/month. 1,100-square-feet large, this home has two bedroom and one bathroom. It has wood flooring, large windows, and mantels. It also has a large front yard and a semi-private backyard, according to the owner. This complex has on-site laundry. Only cats are allowed under the rental agreement.

For $50 under our target price, this Broadmoor home rents for $1,250/month. This three-bedroom home has a covered porch, and a backyard patio. Though we’re not a fan of the columns that take up a great deal of space in its living room. While not perfect, this raised apartment has on-site laundry, French doors, and a roomy kitchen. The owner will allow cats under this home’s rental agreement.
