During Christmastime, Santa Clause looks at who’s been naughty and who’s been nice. This year, New Orleans has been pretty naughty.
In an unconventional study by WalletHub, researchers compared over 180 cities to find the most sinful in the United States for 2018. Over 30 indicators were used, loosely based on capital vices (anger, jealousy, greed, lust, vanity, and laziness).
New Orleans ranks No. 6, scoring the highest in the greed, lust, and excess categories. Roughly 80 miles northwest of NOLA, Baton Rouge ranks No. 11, with its most sinful score in WalletHub’s anger & hatred category.
Despite New Orleans’s new sinful title, it hasn’t stopped a major travel magazine from naming it the second-best city in the world.
The 5 most sinful cities include Charleston, West Virginia; Detroit; North Las Vegas; St. Louis; and Las Vegas.
