Every year on May 2, the Greater New Orleans Foundation holds a 24-hour online charity event to support 717 local and regional nonprofits that strengthen New Orleans. In the past three years, GiveNOLA Day raised more than $10 million for nonprofits across the region
In celebration of the citywide charity, the Greater New Orleans Foundation will host an inaugural GiveNOLA Fest. The free outdoor concert will take place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s new Center of Philanthropy at 919 St. Charles Avenue.
If you haven’t been inside the new 20,000-square-foot facility, check out Curbed NOLA’s first look at the office space.
The GiveNOLA festival will have a variety of musical performances—headlined by Irma Thomas Rebirth Brass Band and Big Sam’s Funk Nation—and several local food vendors. The Greater New Orleans Foundation will allocate all proceeds to its lagniappe fund, which will be proportionally shared with participating nonprofit organizations in the region.
