Finally, ride-hailing options to the airport

Before today, Uber reigned as the only ride-hailing service operating at the New Orleans International Airport. Starting today, July 27, at 8 a.m. you can now (officially) hail a Lyft to and from MSY.

The organization did not mention why Lyft vehicles were unable to service the New Orleans International Airport before today.

Similar to Uber, Lyft fleets will be available at the Ground Transportation Center parking lot where you will also find additional shuttle services.

Right now, Lyft is offering $10 off two airport rides using the promo code MSYAIR17 (you’re welcome). Based on the Lyft Fair Estimator, rides to the airport will be fixed between $33 and $43, depending on the size of the vehicle.

Last month, Kenner City Council attempted to pass regulations that would put more background restrictions on ride-hailing services like Uber. While it initially passed, the council quickly amended its decision after pressure from Uber, drivers, and the Mayor of Kenner.
