Four incredible New Orleans homes with driveways on the market

Living in New Orleans with off-street parking

If you live in New Orleans, you probably know that off-street parking can sometimes be a rarity. Sometimes, there’s just something luxurious about having a safe place to park a car, especially at your home.

This week, in the spirt of Transportation Week, Curbed NOLA highlighted four outstanding homes that all have one thing in common: driveways.

From the French Quarter to Mid-City, here are four homes for sale that offer ample off-street parking.

919 Kelerec Street

Due to their compact nature, its uncommon to find homes with driveways in the French Quarter and Marigny neighborhoods. But there are always exceptions to the rule. Built in 1887, this Victorian home, nestled onto a 5,172-square-foot lot, asks $749,000. Beyond its classic facade, it has traditional living and dining rooms, French and pocket doors, and a long covered porch that spans the length of this home’s driveway.

632 Burgundy Street

If you’re looking for a single-family home with a driveway in the French Quarter, you can buy one for $1.13 million. At 2,100 square feet, this three-story home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. While the owner kept few of the home’s original details, on the inside, it does have a wraparound balcony, an airy living room, and exposed brick fireplaces. What is now the gated driveway used to be a commercial area.

610 Independence Street

After undergoing a $30,000 price cut, this West Indies-style home asks $569,000. This double gallery has an eclectic design, including its refreshing columns and vibrant exterior. Measuring in at 2,127 square feet, it has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Highlights include cedar doors, cypress trim in various rooms, and heart pine flooring.

965 Taft Place

If you plan to hold a lot of house parties, check out this giant home by Bayou St. John. Asking $1,175,000, it has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 4,320 square feet. At first glance, this home has an amazing gated and landscaped garden with a water fountain. Built in 1922, it has maintained many of its original features including plaster medallions, chandeliers, and hardwood floors in most rooms. An oasis-like patio, complete with a pond and pool, sit at the rear of this home. Best of all? It has two separate driveways.
