Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a semi-regular column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New Orleans neighborhoods. Is one man’s studio another man’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today, we’re looking at apartments renting around $1,700.

Banks Street and South Rendon Street

For $1,700/month you can rent part of this Mid-City duplex. We’re in love with its adorable facade, including its sizable sitting porch, petite columns, and eye-catching dormer. Highlights include its hardwood flooring, crown molding, a granite fireplace, recessed lighting, and formal rooms. At 1,900 square feet, this home has three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. Off-street parking is included. Though, no pets are allowed in this unit.

2681 Jasmine Street

This Gentilly apartment near Chef Member Highway with off-street parking is up for grabs, asking $1,600/month. This downstairs unit was built less than three years ago. It has bamboo flooring in its living room and bedrooms. Its kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a large island. At 1,600 square feet, this home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Not pets are allowed in this unit.

North Rampart Street at Governor Nicholls Street

For $1,600/month you can live in this charmingly rugged French Quarter apartment. Fully-furnished, this home has mixes old with new using a combination of reclaimed, exposed-brick, and new walls. But we’re really in love with its charming bedroom. At 654 square feet, this home has one bedroom and one bathroom. No pets are allowed in this unit. But it does has a shared courtyard at its rear.

St. Philip Street and North White Street

You can rent this 1,800-square-foot shotgun in Bayou St. John for $1,800/month. This shotgun has a simple floorplan with a kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms. It also has a roomy master bedroom suite. Out back is a raised wooden deck. Both cats and dogs are allowed under its rental agreement.

2022 Barracks Street

In Treme, you’ll find part of this renovated duplex asking $1,800/month. At 989 square feet, this home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We’re in love with its deep floorplan, hardwood flooring, and recessed lighting. Its open kitchen has a large island, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. Cats and dogs are not allowed in this rental unit. There’s also no off-street parking.
