After celebrating the Carnival season for more than a month, Mardi Gras officially ended yesterday evening. But that’s not to say New Orleanians didn’t celebrate it until the very end.
On Mardi Gras day, several residents and organized and impromptu krewes paraded the streets of New Orleans. Both the krewes of Zulu and Rex rolled on the Uptown Route, while just about every other street in the French Quarter and Marigny became a dance floor.
Yesterday, Curbed NOLA had a blast interviewing several New Orleans residents as they paraded throughout the Marigny. If you haven’t already, check out these photos and short interviews in our Facebook gallery.
Here are some of our favorite photos we’ve found on Instagram that capture both the excitement and aftermath of Mardi Gras day in New Orleans. Now, we wait for Mari Gras 2019, which will land on Tuesday, March 5.
