Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a semi-regular column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New Orleans neighborhoods. Is one man’s studio another man’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today, we’re looking at apartments renting around $1,500.

200 Broadway Street

$1,400/month can rent you this modest apartment with a balcony near Audubon Park. Measuring at 750 square feet, this home has one bedroom and one bathroom. Coming furnished, it has polished hardwood floors, 12-foot ceilings, and eye-catching millwork. Its cozy kitchen has open shelving and brick flooring. But there’s no mention of any pet policy, and no off-street parking.

1314 Frenchmen Street

In the 7th Ward, $1,400/month rents you this large and practical apartment. While there’s no documentation of square footage, this home has three bedrooms and one bathroom. While you might not find the most luxurious finishes here, you will find an open-floor living room and airy bedrooms—all of which are furnished. Both small cats and dogs are allowed under its rental agreement. But if you’re looking for a private parking space, you won’t find it here.

St. Charles Avenue near Hillary Street

If you don’t mind downsizing, check out this renovated apartment near the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar line. Measuring at 600 square feet, this home has one bedroom and one bathroom. Highlights include its built-in bookshelf, pedant lighting, an hardwood floors. Its kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. It also has an in-unit washer and dryer. Though, no pets are allowed under its rental agreement.

Toulouse Street at Burgundy Street

$1,575/month can get you a second-floor unit in the Madame X Mansion in the French Quarter. Measuring at 600 square feet, this home has one bedroom and one bathroom. We’re drawn to its exposed brick walls and hardwood floors. Complex amenities include on-site washer and dryers, and a shared courtyard at its rear. Pets are also allowed in this unit.

2514 St. Philip Street

Rent part of this duplex in Treme for $1,600/month. We don’t know the exact size of this unit, but we do know it has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Renovated in 2015, you’ll find soaring ceilings, gorgeous floors, and plenty of exposed brick. Its overhauled kitchen has granite counters and stainless steel appliances. There’s no mention of any off-street parking. Though pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
