Last year, New Orleans had several new projects that opened its doors to the public. On April 25, the Louisiana Landmarks Society will honor some of these developments at it annual Awards for Excellence for Historic Preservation.
The award ceremony will be held in one of the city’s newest developments, the Jung Hotel and Residences. The Society will recognize some of the best restorations, rehabilitation, and new constructions that developers completed in Orleans Parish in 2017.
At this year’s Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation you’ll find some of Curbed NOLA’s favorite renovations, including the Algiers Courthouse in Algiers Point and The Artspace Bell in Treme. In its commercial category, the Society will honor the Drifter Hotel, The Jung Hotel and Residences, and Robért Fresh Market.
In the Society’s new construction category, it will award MK Red for its Baker’s Row residence in the Marigny. The Lower Garden District’s new condos at St. Thomas and Ninth streets will also be among the honored developments.
