For the past year our friends at NeighborhoodX have analyzed home prices on a square-foot basis in New Orleans. Today, the research and analytics firm published its analysis on home prices this April.
On a square-foot basis, the least expensive residential unit in New Orleans costs $52/square foot in Hollygrove. The most expensive unit sits in the French Quarter, asking $1,308/square foot. NeighborhoodX does not consider short sales, foreclosures, and inhabitable listings in its analyses.
“It is always worth noting that the most expensive property on an asking price basis isn’t always the most expensive on a per-square-foot basis, and vice versa,” said Constantine Valhouli, the director of research for NeighborhoodX.
The French Quarter, which ranks as the most expensive neighborhood in New Orleans, has an average listing price of $507/square foot. The Seventh Ward has the least expensive average at $112/square foot.
