Earlier this week, The New Orleans Advocate reported on Tesla’s plans to open a new service and delivery center in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District. This will be the first dedicated Tesla Center in New Orleans—and the Gulf Coast.

According to the HDLC-approved plans on One Stop, which were filed by MBH Architects, Tesla will remodel a standing warehouse located at 2801 Tchoupitoulas Street. The center will have a 30,000-square-foot warehouse to store vehicles, a 16,000-square-foot repair center, and office space.

Canal Street Beat reports the Historic District Landmarks Commission approved the plans for the service center this past may. However, there’s been no formal announcement on the projected cost or completion date.
