The year 2019 is off to a good start. Yesterday, mayor Latoya Cantrell announced that the city deactivated 20 of the city’s red-light cameras. As of January 1, these cameras no longer issue traffic tickets. All cameras in school zones will only issue tickets on school days between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.
Here’s a list of deactivated cameras, as well as the locations of the 11 cameras that remain operational. The operational cameras will only ticket motorists going in the specified directions, in an attempt to streamline the traffic camera program and improve public safety.
